Frequently Asked Questions:

  • At CCPT, we are highly specialized in movement, mobility, and function of the body. We evaluate, diagnose, and treat Orthopedic and Sports injuries / conditions.

  • Physical Therapy Evaluation: 45-70 minutes

Physical Therapy Follow Up Consultation: 30-60 minutes

  • Yes! We will set you up for a free phone consutation to determine your needs and help set up a plan of care that works for you.

  • No. Virginia, Maryland, and D.C. are “direct access.” This means a physical therapist can be your first point of contact for your musculoskeletal needs. Not all states have enacted this, and only recently was enabled in VA without restriction. When you experience pain, seeing a licensed Physical Therapist first will often save you a lot of time, effort, and expense.

Some insurance plans will require a doctor's referral for you to receive reimbursement. If this is the case, let us know and we will work with your physician.

  • Castine Concierge Physical Therapy is an out-of-network service provider. This means that we do not participate with insurance companies and payment for services is provided day of or prior to the day of service.

By not accepting insurance, this allows us to provide a higher level of care. This policy allows us to see patients for longer, with greater availability and shorter wait times.

You pay for your treatment directly at the time of service. However, you may be eligible for an amount of reimbursement through your insurance company after submitting documentation.

We do not guarantee reimbursement as it is subject to your individual health plan, however, we can provide you with the necessary information for you to submit to your insurance company.

  • Castine Concierge Physical Therapy can provide an invoice (superbill) upon request and you can submit that to your insurance company for reimbursement. CCPT does not submit this on the patients’ behalf. This superbill will have the necessary ICD-codes and CPT (billing) codes as well as all the other necessary information for you to submit to your insurance provider.

  • Castine Concierge Physical Therapy takes all major credit cards as well as HSA and FSA cards as payment for your treatment services.

  • The Initial Evaluation will last 60-70 minutes and it will focus on gathering a thorough history, understanding the reason(s) you are seeking physical therapy treatment, and answering any questions you have. The objective evaluation will consist of assessments of range of motion, strength, and mobility. After completion of the evaluation, we will discuss the findings with you and help design a plan of care that addresses the impairments identified in the evaluation, works well with your schedule, and gets you back to the level of activity you desire. On some occasions, this plan of care may include a referral to another professional in another treatment setting.

Please be sure to create enough space for a treatment table and room around the table to move freely in order to assess joint range of motion and strength.

Before the first session, please go to the patient portal tab and fill out your patient registration on PTeverywhere if you have not done so with the clinician during your free phone consultation. If you have already registered, under the patient portal tab above, please click on the "Patient Portal" link to access your portal and to fill out your new patient paperwork.

  • Yes. CCPT offers Telehealth as an option for patients to accommodate longer travel distances or if a patient has to go out of town but wishes to continue their plan of care.

  • You should have a computer or laptop that has a microphone and webcam capacity. To access the platform, sign in to your patient portal. Through your portal, you have access to a HIPAA compliant Telehealth platform that you will use to discuss your condition with Dr. Castine.

Initial Telehealth appointments are focused on gathering and discussing information to understand your condition and best determine a diagnosis. The initial appointment will consist of a full evaluation of your past medical history, medical diagnostic screening questions, and if possible, musculoskeletal functional testing via movement assessment, as well as any diagnostic testing over video.

Based on the Telehealth evaluation, we will discuss treatment options that you can perform independently and Dr. Castine will discuss and demonstrate a home exercise protocol for you to follow.

  • In person consultations: it would be ideal to have enough room for the treatment table and five or six feet at a minimum around the table to evaluate any movements that are required.

Telehealth consultations: Please create enough room to be able to demonstrate aggravating activities as well as participate in any movements or tests that Dr. Castine would like to evaluate.

  • Clothing that allows for freedom of movement and enables you to easily access the location of symptoms is ideal.
